Hypnotherapy

Is one of the safest therapies available as it involves no drugs or physical manipulation and once completed is so effective that people forget they ever had a problem in the first place. It is most effective with emotional illnesses that present as an anxiety about something, and of course most anxieties are really repressed fears.

How they occur

Children form opinions about themselves and how they fit into their world during the first seven years of their life. This is held as a template within their subconscious all their adult life. The subconscious represents 88% of the mind and is very powerful, it holds every thought, emotion and feeling we have ever had in this life (and past lives) much like the hard drive of a computer. Now efficient though this may be, the subconscious is not intelligent, is incapable of lying and cannot discern the difference between good or bad data.
That is the job of the conscious mind which is reasoning, logical and judging yet only represents 12% of our mind. In children the conscious mind is not developed enough to rationalise what is being stored.
We have only just begun to realise how vulnerable children are in their early years to suggestion. If an authority figure repeatedly tells a child he is stupid, silly, or hopeless that belief is stored in the subconscious irrespective of whether it is true, for life. Not surprisingly the child as an adult will find it difficult to succeed in life, sometimes not even bothering to try in the first place.
Our adult conscious mind logically argues that our stored fears are irrational and has no idea what is being repressed, which is why some people never seek help.

Hypnosis

Is the gateway to the subconscious and is a natural state. It requires only two things, relaxation and focus and is incredibly easy to achieve. It is not possible to get stuck, turn into a zombie, lose your personality, or be made to do something you don’t want to. Once in Hypnosis the therapist guides the client to identify the originating event and/or compounding events that caused the fear. The memory remains intact but the emotions around it are released. All that is left to do is to install some positive suggestions and the healing is done.
